Yes we have room.
The refugee crisis has not gone away. If anything, the situation has got worse with more people fleeing their countries because of war, persecution or environmental reasons. Over 65M people are displaced in the world today. In 2017, over 5,000 children, women and men have drowned or gone missing.
So please help someone get over a crisis and rebuild their lives.
Over 6,700 households have registered with Positive Action in Housing to host destitute refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable people in a crisis. The numbers are growing.
From the Outer Hebrides, to Shetland, to Edinburgh's Morningside to Glasgow's Southside to Liverpool, Cambridge, Oxford, Devon, Manchester and every part of London.
So far, we have provided over 60,000 nights of shelter for refugee families, individuals and young unaccompanied asylum seekers.

Positive Action in Housing (SC027577) is a small Scottish charity with a global remit. We pioneered the UK's first refugee hosting programme in 2002 when we noticed an increasing number of refugees being forced into destitution. We have 16 years of expertise of safe hosting of refugees. Our scheme went viral after the Syria refugee crisis finally came home to people across Europe. Thousands of people have since volunteered to host refugees and those seeking sanctuary. We offer an online refugee hosting programme which speedily and safely accommodates people.

Room for Refugees offers temporary (free) shelter in people's homes to people from refugee communities who have no recourse to public funds or emergency housing. The programme is entirely voluntary and no money changes hands. We work with "hosts" to help individuals rebuild their lives. We have witnessed remarkable, life changing results that have brought out the best in people.
We also offer those seeking refugee limited crisis grants and other practical support (subject to availability).
Referral Partners Invited
Are you a refugee group or aid organisation wishing to refer people from refugee communities in your area for temporary shelter while they regularise their status in this country?
We have 360 partner agencies, including local authorities, other charities and NGOs across the UK and Europe, e.g. the Red Cross and the Refugee Council who are accessing this service for their service users who find themselves destitute or without a family unit. Some local authorities have approached us about sheltering unaccompanied child refugees. we have been able to identify loving families able to provide for and raise such children.
If your local authority wants to use the programme for destitute refugee/asylum seeking service users, then email home@positiveactionh.org for a simple, paperless, quick referral process.
In the future, we intend to organise briefings with local refugee network meetings across the UK to inform individuals and partners of the system, discuss current refugee issues and encourage local support.
