The wife of  Palestinian , Mohammad Abu Sammour, from Airdrie, who died of life threatening injuries on October 28 is continuing to face considerable financial hardship since her husband's tragic death. Fidaa, 39, and mother of four young sons aged 10 to 1 year old,m has still not received Income support in over 7 weeks. In addition, her husband's employer - Osprey Executive - has awarded her just one month's salary, despite him being killed while on the job as a site supervisor - a job he held for many years - while protecting luxury properties owned by Taylor Wimpey in Newarthill. Neither Taylor wimpey or Osprey Executive have made a public statement or issued condolences. Two people have so far been charged with murder and it is believed a third person is being sought.

Mohammad's widow, 39 year old Fidaa, pictured above with her father and youngest son of one year old, said:

"My husband worked and looked after us, we didn't rely on anyone else. I enjoyed taking care of our children while my husband worked. Our family is very private, and although grateful for peoples kindnesses which have sustained us, we are not used to losing that privacy. I want to get that back, I don't want my children feeling pressured, but each day I am in a different office trying to resolve many different problems following my husband's death. I accept it was his time, that's my faith, it keeps me strong, but I am also weak from this, I can't think what was done to Mohammad, he never deserved to go like this,. I don't know why we haven't received Income Support.  My husband was a site supervisor for several years. He worked for Osprey . I need to focus on my children's education and upbringing. I need to listen to my children and their needs and let them grow, not rush them out the door. This morning I sent them to school breakfast club to get to Glasgow, but I always prepare their breakfast. It's not the life I imagined. My father has arrived from Jordan but this is a hardship for him too. To see his family like this in a strange country. He is used to going to the mosque several times a day and seeing friends. Here, he is just with us and the occasional friends take him weekly to the mosque."

Mohammad was found bleeding to death by a terrified resident at Taylor Wimpey's development, near Holytown Crematorium. He died in hospital a short while later. The alleged killer/s fled in Mohammad's white Peugeot Partner — later found torched in nearby New Stevenston. It is believed Mohammad worked for Osprey Efficient. Osprey Efficient and @TaylorWimpeyplc did not comment. Mohammad's employer Phoenix sent Fidaa flowers and awarded her one month's wages.

On Nov 5, 21-year-old Scott Pearson from Motherwell appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with Mohammad's murder. He also faced a charge of perverting the course of justice.
