Policy Officer : Part time, permanent (subject to continued funding) Starting Salary: £29,797 (pro rata)

Location: We are currently working from home with desk space available at our Edinburgh office and have a hybrid model in development.
Working hours: 30 hours per week About Us Zero Tolerance is a Scottish charity working to end men's violence against women by promoting gender equality and by challenging attitudes which normalise violence and abuse.

What You'll Do We are looking for an experienced Policy Officer to join our team and lead on the development of robust, evidence-based policy responses to prevent violence against women and girls. You will support the organisation's aims by building effective networks, monitoring and analysing developing public policy and researching and writing reports in line with campaign and policy priorities.
Influencing key decision makers and stakeholders across local authorities, Scottish and UK governments and third sector organisations is critical, with the successful candidate working in close collaboration with the women's sector as a whole.
You will represent Zero Tolerance on advisory and working groups with stakeholders, acting as Chair/Co-chair as required and work with ZT colleagues to identify areas of influence and priority: incorporating the views and needs of marginalised women is essential in the role. The role holder will also be expected to attend meetings with stakeholders such as Scottish Government and third sector organisations, likely face to face when deemed appropriate, across the Central belt.
What We Need The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with strong knowledge and understanding of violence against women and gender equality. You'll be a skilled communicator with the ability to present complex ideas to a variety of audiences including senior politicians: as an effective negotiator, you will have the ability to influence and shape agenda at the highest levels and with a diversity of stakeholders and partners.
You will also have:
- Excellent understanding of the Scottish political landscape
- The ability to understand complex policy issues, articulate clear and focused responses, and make judgements based on quality evidence
- Demonstrable project management skills, managing both reactive and planned work
- Proven experience of building networks
