As we approach the end of another year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for staying with us on the journey and supporting us in what was the most challenging year yet.
Together, we provided advice, legal representation and practical humanitarian support to over 4,000 families. This included food, shelter and crisis support for essentials like energy and data, enabling people to rebuild their lives and stand on their own resources.
Alongside this work, we challenged serious abuses of human rights, including the UK government's suspension of family reunion rules. This decision has caused unimaginable hardship to recognised refugees in this country who are denied their basic right to be reunited with spouses, children and loved ones.
The impact has been especially devastating for Palestinians whose families are trapped in Gaza, with no safe route out and no possibility of escape, leaving people separated from their children and partners while genocide unfolds. These policies sit alongside racially motivated narratives that blame the most marginalised for systemic failure.
Housing insecurity and poverty have deepened. Racist narratives and a culture of blame have been amplified by government and media, deliberately targeting minorities, immigrants and refugees, while the real causes of hardship, political failure, go unchecked.
But we have not backed down. Because this work matters.
Housing and resettlement are the foundation of dignity, safety and participation in our communities. When people are allowed to resettle and rebuild, they contribute more. Our futures are bound together.
We choose unity over division. While fear has been amplified, we insist on facts and fairness. When dehumanisation is tolerated anywhere, it threatens dignity everywhere.
We are proud of our achievements this year and we are clear about the challenges that still lie ahead. The need is growing, but funding is shrinking. That makes our charitable and humanitarian work essential and life transforming.
Thank you for standing with us in 2025 through donations, volunteering and collaboration. It is because of our members and supporters that we remain strong, and that we have now made it past 30 years.
