Finance Officer 

Hours: Part-Time, 21 hrs per week   
Salary: £22,000 PA (£13,200 pro-rata) + 4% pension   
Contract: Fixed Term, initially to 30th September 2024
(with likelihood of further extension subject to funding)  

 

CEMVO Scotland is a national intermediary and strategic partner of the Scottish Government with a database network of 600 ethnic minority organisations and community groups.  Our work is underpinned by race equality, and we seek to level the playing field for ethnic minority communities, organisations and individuals across Scotland.  

We are seeking a finance officer with at least 3 years' financial and bookkeeping experience.  Reporting to the Head of Operations and Resources, you will have responsibilities for all financial duties, including producing and maintaining financial records and systems to audit standard, compiling and maintaining management accounts for the organisation and on a per project basis.  As well as executing daily bookkeeping functions such as invoicing, petty cash management, expense claims and posting to the cashbook.   

Good communication and excellent ICT skills are also essential for this post.

Positive Action in Housing is a grassroots, anti-racist homelessness and human rights charity (SC027577) dedicated to supporting women, children and men from refugee and migrant backgrounds to rebuild their lives. We believe in a society where everyone has the right to live safe and dignified lives, free from poverty, homelessness or inequality.
 
We are seeking a finance professional with at least 3 years'  experience to join our finance sub committee.  As a member, you will assist theTreasurer, a Chartered Accountant, in managing and monitoring the organisation's finances and contribute your expertise. A knowledge of Scottish charity regulations is an advantage. This is an opportunity to meet others in the non profit sector and learn about the practicalities of charity finance.
